If OCR finds that your complaint has merit, federal regulations require OCR to work with the funded agency to bring it into compliance with applicable federal civilrights laws. These negotiations may result in a formal resolution agreement, which states remedial actions the funded agency agrees to take. OCR will now dismiss complaints that contain the same or similar allegations arising from the same facts as another complaint currently pending before another federal, state, or local civil rights enforcement agency or in a recipients internal grievance procedures, if the other agency has a complaint and resolution process acceptable to OCR.
This Interim Case Resolution Manual (CRM) is intended to provide procedural guidance to OCR case managers to ensure EPAs prompt, effective, and efficient resolution of civil rights cases consistent with science and the civil rights laws. OCR does not handle cases that are being addressed by another agency or within a school's or college's formal grievance procedure if OCR anticipates that the agency you filed with will provide you with a resolution process comparable to OCR's.
PROCEDURES TO ADDRESS COMPLAINTS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. By December 16, 2011, the University will submit to OCR for its review and approval draft revised procedures that provide for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints of sexual violence consistent with Title IX.
